Meet Our Doctors
Dr.Tom S Redding III
Dr. Tom Redding is the proud owner of Tri-County Veterinary Service since 1987. From his hometown of Asheboro, NC he attended Brown University in Rhode Island and then went onto Ohio State Univ. College Of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to his interests in large animal medicine and surgery, Dr. Redding enjoys small animal orthopedic surgery and performance medicine. When not at Tri-County Veterinary Service he can be found at his family home in Silk Hope with his wife and 2 sons. After tending to the many, goats, donkeys and cows on the family farm, he can often be found fishing or just enjoying the great outdoors.

Dr. Margaret M. Alexander
Dr. Margaret Alexander received her BS at North Carolina State University in Animal Science and went to the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University. She has worked as an attending veterinarian at Duke University Vivarium and Primate Center. After being the senior associate at The Animal Hospital in Carrboro, NC, she came to Tri-County Veterinary Service in 1990. When she is not on the water racing small sailboats, she enjoys living in Chatham County with her husband Bruce, and four legged children Cole and Patty Sue. Cats and a few chickens complete the small family farm.
Dr. Terra L. Wells
Dr. Terra
Wells began her career at Tri-County working as a veterinary technician in 2005 while at
the same time attending school at NCSU. She received her BS in animal science from
NCSU, and then went onto The College of Veterinary Medicine at NC State graduating in
2007. Tri-County was fortunate enough to have her return to us as a doctor in 2007. Her
love and compassion for all animals is well known in the community, although she has a
special interest in large animal care and the more than occasional pig! Dr
Wells, her husband and beautiful young daughter
make their home in rural Chatham County.
Lots of lucky rescued and abandoned pets have found their "forever
home” there. The small farm is also home to many horses and chickens.
Dr. Alice W. Baker
Dr. Baker is
from Crossnore, a small town in the Western part of NC. She attended Warren
Wilson College near Asheville before graduating from the School of
Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University. Remaining at NCSU
for another 9 months of
specialty
training in large animal medicine, surgery and reproductive medicine she
then moved onto private practice with Apex Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Baker’s
interests focus on equine reproduction, preventative health and sports
medicine. She joined the team at Tri-County Veterinary in the Fall of 2009,
and enjoys the variety of patients seen in the office. When Dr. Baker is not
working or studying animal nutrition, you’ll likely find her enjoying
outdoor activities. She can often be found riding her Arabian Endurance
horse "Krash", rock climbing or running.

Dr. Dan Allen
Tri-County Veterinary Service is very fortunate to have Dr. Dan Allen with our practice. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine, and has been in practice since 1968. After a very long and prosperous career in Raleigh, Dr. Allen has now retired to the family farm in Snow Camp, and is a recent recipient of the Univ. Of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine’s Distinguished Alumni Award. He is the only person to have served two terms as president of the NC Veterinary Medicine Association and was also named their veterinarian of the year. He came to Tri-County in 1999 working part time in his retirement. Dr. Allen and his wife make their home in Snow Camp on a small family farm not far from his childhood home. When he is not working in his woodshop or fishing he can usually be found on a tractor in his hay fields.
In
March of 2011 we were very proud to announce that our very own
registered and licensed veterinary technician Robin
Jones had been awarded the North Carolina Association of Veterinary Technicians 2011 Veterinary Technician of the year. Awarded for her
extraordinary service and dedication to her profession, all of us here
at Tri-County could not agree more.
